As part of breast cancer awareness month, Instacart is proud to announce that we are participating in the Color Genomics Breast Cancer Pledge.

We took the Breast Cancer Pledge because we care deeply about the health of our employees and want them to have access to this important test.

By participating in this pledge, we are making the Color Benefits Program available to our employees and will be covering 50% of the cost of the Color Test, a genetic test that assesses breast and ovarian cancer risk (including for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes).

Those who choose to take advantage of the program will have access to important information about their health and cancer risk without the typically high cost of genetic testing that can often act as a barrier to accessing this important information.

In addition to the test, we will be hosting a board certified genetic counselor at Instacart to do an educational seminar on cancer risk, as well as the benefits and limitations of genetic testing.

Our hope is to continue to offer benefits that create the best possible work environment for our employees, and foster a healthy and happy community at Instacart. And while we are on the forefront of a wave of companies supporting the initiative, we hope this is just the beginning of growing participation in the Breast Cancer Pledge.
